What’s Next: 25 Big Ideas

March 23rd, 2010 · View Comments · Personal, socent

Recently, I’ve been doing a bit of writing in addition to the regular blogging that I do, as part of a project inspired by Seth Godin’s e-book “What Matters Now.” The book I’m contributing to is called “What’s Next: Big Ideas from 25 Gen-Yers Under 25” and will feature 25 authors under the age of 25 from a broad variety of backgrounds. You can think of this as 25 short TED talks in book form!

The funds we raise from selling the book will be donated to charity (after covering printing costs), and the proceeds will be donated to 25 different organizations, each one chosen by a “What’s Next” contributor. We have also partnered with Kickstarter (a fundraising platform for artists, musicians, and journalists) as we raise $2000 for our 25 charities in the next 31 days.

So get your copy of “What’s Next” today! For $250, you’ll receive two books (signed by all 25 contributors), plus a digital version, a thank you video, and shoutout on our support page. Think this project is awesome but don’t have a lot of dough? Even a buck will get you a PDF version plus a subscription to exclusive Kickstarter updates and $35 gets you all that plus a print copy signed by the c0-chairs.

The fundraising deadline is April 24, so give us a hand, and feel free to learn more and watch our introductory video. The more books we pre-order, the cheaper the cost will be, and the more we can donate to charity!

Interesting. What is the subject of your contribution?
  • As you know, I've been blogging a lot about social entrepreneurship from the beginning of this blog, and my contribution to "What's Next" is basically hitting on some of the most important points in this area. The current working title for my contribution is "The Power of Profit."
