…One step at a time! Here are projects from two of my friends that I want to profile for you guys today. They are helping to change the world land make it a better place, one step at a time.
The 3:18 Movement
The first one is The 3:18 Movement, which is an organization founded to bring awareness to various social justice issues and to mobilize people to take action. Currently, 318 is working on the CINU Project to assist Ugandan IDPs (internally-displaced persons) and refugees by 1) implement water sanitation systems in Uganda and 2) creating health and hygiene programs. But to do so, they will need to raise about $12,000, as they work with LifeWater International and their local Ugandan partners.
One of 318′s first fundraising projects is a Mother’s Day card sale. The founder of 3:18 has a background in art & design and will be selling 4 versions of handmade Mother’s Day cards for $8 apiece to raise money for the CINU project and to raise awareness for the plight of Ugandan refugees/IDPs. All proceeds will go to providing clean water and health programs in Uganda! You can see an example card card below.
To order your own card, which can be personalized with a message, please visit The 3:18 Movement’s website, where you can see more pictures and check out! Don’t wait too long, because Mother’s Day is only one week away!
The Jubilee Project
I’ve written about Jubilee once before in my blog, but I’m writing today to share that they are in the running for Pepsi Refresh, a Pepsi-sponsored “crowdsourced charity” initiative that gives away over $1 million a month to people, businesses, and non-profits that will have a positive impact. Starting every month, you can vote for 10 of your favorite ideas every day, and at the end of the month, the top vote-getting applicants in each funding category ($5,000 to $250,000) will receive that amount in financial support.
